NaNoWriMo Completed

NaNoWriMo is nearly over for the year and I finished last week with a total around 77,000 words. That doesn't mean I have a finished novel, there is a lot of work to be done. The historical Sons of Liberty book is extremely interesting and the first battle scene I got to write came from a journal of a little boy who was there (he wrote the journal in his 70's) He was under the command of General Benadict Arnold and they were to go get the cannons from Ticonderoga.  I am looking forward to writing this series on American History. I love history.

1st Edits

My 1st edits arrived today via email. I was so nervous I could hardly open the document! There isn't very much (if any) that I need to change. It mostly showed the breaks for the illustrations.  My favorite quote is,

"Overall, your story was great! You have written a great rhyme scheme that flows really well."

How great is that!? I have printed out the edits, email and the instructions. I have until the 30th to get it back to the editor. I am so excited.

Update on children's book

Heard from Tate Publisher's this week. I have been assigned an editor (:-)) and will get proofs in a couple of weeks. Probably after Thanksgiving. The book will be then be sent to the illustrators. In the meantime, I filled out a questionaire, I need to email info to the editor and give her my ideas for illustration. It is a picture book afterall. So by Dec. 1st the type and story will be finalized and ready for the illustrator! Yea!!!
